Car care and body painting BMW 5 Series E28
All of the models described feature a welded steel body structure where the floor and body components are welded together and attached to separate, front and rear subframe assemblies. Certain body components are particularly susceptible to crash damage and can be removed and repaired or replaced. These parts include body moldings, bumpers, bonnet, doors, tailgate and all glass. This chapter only includes general body care recommendations and body panel restoration procedures that are the responsibility of a home mechanic.
