Removal and installation the fuel pump (BMW 3 Series E21)
Removal
Disconnect the drain and fuel supply pipes from the pump.
Unscrew the two pump mounting nuts.
Remove the pump, heat-insulating spacer, insulating bushings and pusher.
Remove the pump cover, wash it with gasoline and blow out the mesh filter with compressed air.
Installation
Install the cover so that its locating pin fits into the socket in the pump body.
Install the heat-insulating spacer with the drain hole facing the cylinder block.
Install the push rod and insulating bushings.
Install the pump and tighten the mounting nuts.
Connect the drain and fuel supply tubes to the pump fittings.
