At the customer's request, BMW models can be equipped with an automatic transmission. The automatic transmission provides automatic shifting in three forward gear ranges.
To ensure fast acceleration, for example when overtaking, the automatic transmission has a so-called kickdown switch, which is activated when the gas pedal is fully pressed. The kickdown effect ensures either a delay in the transmission in a higher gear or a shift from a higher to one of the lower gears.
To evaluate the operation of the automatic transmission and troubleshooting, sufficient professional experience is required, so if you have any doubts about the abnormal operation of the automatic transmission, you should immediately contact the service station.
