Removal and installation the oil pan (BMW 3 Series E21)
Removal
Remove the protective shield from the clutch side.
Drain the oil and remove the oil pan mounting bolts.
Move the oil pan aside and remove the oil pump pressure relief valve.
Remove the oil pan by pushing it forward.
Installation
Clean the mating surfaces of the parts.
Apply sealant such as Atmosit or Curil K 2 to the mating surfaces of the front cylinder block cover and the crankshaft rear oil seal holder.
Replace the gasket and install the oil pump and pressure relief valve.
Further installation of the oil pan is carried out in the reverse order of crushing.
