Removal and installation the heater fan (BMW 3 Series E30)
If the fan does not operate at all speeds, check the ballast resistors.
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Cut the cable tie "A" and push the cable to the side.
Disconnect the profile rubber trim "C" from the body.
Unscrew 4 nuts 3-.
Remove cover "B".
Disconnect the upper heater fan housing from the lower housing and remove it.
Disconnect electrical wires "F" from the heater fan.
Insert the wire clip "E" into the existing hole and disconnect by pulling the clip "D".
Remove the heater fan and its lower casing.
Insert the lower heater fan housing.
Insert the heater fan.
Insert the heater fan mounting clip and snap the wire clip into place.
Connect the electrical wires and connector.
Insert the upper heater fan housing and snap it into the lower housing.
Connect the ground wire to the battery and check the operation of the heater fan at all speeds; if necessary, correct the malfunction.
Insert the cover and secure it with 4 nuts.
Secure the cable to the cover with new clamps.
Insert a profiled rubber pad.
Removal
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

Cut the cable tie "A" and push the cable to the side.
Disconnect the profile rubber trim "C" from the body.

Unscrew 4 nuts 3-.
Remove cover "B".
Disconnect the upper heater fan housing from the lower housing and remove it.

Disconnect electrical wires "F" from the heater fan.
Insert the wire clip "E" into the existing hole and disconnect by pulling the clip "D".
Remove the heater fan and its lower casing.
Installation
Caution: Do not remove the impellers from the motor or rotate them on the shaft. The impellers are balanced on the shaft.
Insert the lower heater fan housing.
Insert the heater fan.
Note: The black impeller must be located on the right side.
Insert the heater fan mounting clip and snap the wire clip into place.
Connect the electrical wires and connector.
Insert the upper heater fan housing and snap it into the lower housing.
Connect the ground wire to the battery and check the operation of the heater fan at all speeds; if necessary, correct the malfunction.
Insert the cover and secure it with 4 nuts.
Secure the cable to the cover with new clamps.
Insert a profiled rubber pad.
