The exhaust system consists of a front pipe, a pre-muffler with a pipe and an end silencer. On vehicles with a catalytic converter, an exhaust gas filter is installed instead of the pre-muffler. A lambda probe is installed in the front pipe, which is used to control the operation of the catalyst.
The twin front pipes are bolted to the exhaust manifold, which is attached to the cylinder head. All parts are bolted or welded and can be replaced separately. Self-locking nuts and gaskets must be replaced after they have been removed. Retaining rings and rubber pads are checked for cracks, otherwise they should be replaced.
When installing a new exhaust system, it is also recommended to install new fasteners.
