Interior lighting (BMW X3 E83)

The interior lighting is controlled automatically.


The interior lighting is controlled automatically.

Note: You can set the lights to turn on automatically when you unlock the car with the key. This function can be enabled/disabled for you at a BMW service station.


Note: If the interior light remains on after you lock the vehicle, this indicates that you have not closed one of the doors or the trunk completely.


Manual switching on and off of interior lighting



Press and release key 1. If you want the lighting to remain off all the time, hold the key down for about three seconds. To cancel this state, press and release the key.

Note: At a BMW service center, you can program a dim mode for turning on and off the interior lighting.


Front reading lights (optional)



The lamps are switched on and off using keys 2.

Rear reading lights (optional)



The lamps are turned on and off using the keys located next to them.

Note: To conserve battery life, all vehicle lights will turn off approximately 15 minutes after the ignition is turned off.
