Note: The DDE control unit has a memory that memorizes faults in the electrical part of the fuel injection system. After that, the service station polls the fault drive and purposefully eliminates the failures.
Checking glow plugs
Remove the engine lining above the glow plugs.
The glow plugs are located under the intake ports.
Unscrew the wires from the glow plugs.
Connect a voltage tester to the positive battery terminal and connect the other end of the tester in series to each glow plug.
LED lights up: Glow plug OK. A more accurate check of the current consumption is made with an ammeter at the service station.
LED does not light up: Glow plug defective, replace. Spark plug tightening torque 25 Nm.
Attention: Do not overtighten the spark plug, as this tightens the annular gap between the plug stem and its threaded part and premature failure of the glow plug occurs.
Connect the wires to the glow plugs by tightening the nuts with a tightening torque of 5 Nm.
