Note: The DDE control unit has a memory device that stores faults in the electrical part of the fuel injection system. The service station then interrogates the fault memory and performs targeted troubleshooting.
Checking glow plugs

Remove the engine covers over the glow plugs.

The glow plugs are located under the intake ports.

Unscrew the wires from the glow plugs.
Connect the voltage tester to the positive terminal of the battery and connect the other end of the tester to each glow plug in series.
The LED lights up: the glow plug is normal. A more accurate check of the current consumption is made with an ammeter at a service station.
LED does not light: glow plug is defective, replace. Glow plug tightening torque 25 Nm.
Caution: Do not overtighten the spark plug, as this will tighten the annular gap between the spark plug rod and its threaded part and cause premature failure of the glow plug.
Connect the wires to the glow plugs, tightening the nuts with a tightening torque of 5 Nm.
