Removal and installation glow plugs (engine M47 T2/M57 TU/M57 T2)
Note: Read the information in the fault memory of the DDE system control unit (DDE - Digital Diesel Engine Electronics).
1. Turn off the ignition.
Note: If the glow plugs are not functioning properly, check the fuse located behind the glove compartment.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Remove the intake manifold.
4. Unlock and disconnect the connector (1) using tool 122300.
5. Remove the glow plugs (1) using tool 116050.
Tightening torque: 18 Nm.
Note: If necessary, drill out fixture 116050 with a 0 9.5 mm twist drill to a depth of approximately 20 mm.
6. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
Note:
- Check the recorded error messages.
- Clear fault codes.
