Removal and installation the front leg area trim (BMW 3 Series E46)
Removal

1. Release the steering column adjustment mechanism and move the column up as far as possible. Lock the steering column.
In the illustration, the cladding has been removed to show the attachment points.
2. Remove screws "1".
3. Remove the clamps "2" by first removing the pins in the center and then removing the clamp.
4. Rotate at 90° (1/4 turn) clamp "3" to release it.
5. Press the brackets "4" towards the steering column and release them.
6. Place the "5" facing down.
7. Disconnect the electrical wires of the footwell light, the "6" horn and the on-board diagnostics box.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
