The front axle of a BMW consists of a front axle beam, shock absorber struts, and wishbones. The anti-roll bar provides better grip of the front wheels on the road surface. Each shock absorber strut consists of a coil spring and a built-in shock absorber. The shock absorber strut is attached to the body at the top via a support bearing, and is bolted to the wheel hub at the bottom.
