Withdrawal
Remove the brake caliper and secure it with wire to the body.
Caution: The brake hose remains connected, otherwise the brake system must be bled later.
If there is an ABS pulse sensor, remove it.
Holding with a wrench, separate the brace from the stabilizer.
Support the suspension strut from below with a jack so that the strut does not fall when the upper support is released.
Loosen the lower suspension strut bolts.
Clean threaded holes and bolts with a wire brush.
Remove the cap from the suspension strut column.
Unscrew 3 securing nuts -arrows- on suspension strut column and pull suspension strut downwards.
Attention: Do not loosen the fixing nut 1 of the helical spring.
Installation
Insert suspension strut from below and tighten with new self-locking nuts with a tightening torque of 22 Nm.
Move suspension strut lower part to correct position -arrow-.
Screw the suspension strut on from below with new bolts to a tightening torque of 110 Nm. The bolts have a locking coating and must be replaced after each loosening.
Screw the tension rod to the stabilizer with a new self-locking nut with a tightening torque of 60 Nm. The wrench surface of the ball pin must be parallel to the shock absorber axis.
Install ABS pulse sensor if fitted.
Install the brake caliper.
