Removal and installation the anti-roll bar and its strut (BMW 7 Series E38)

Stabilizer struts

1. Set the vehicle wheels to the straight-ahead position.



2. Disconnect the stabilizer bar from the suspension strut, holding the fastener from turning with a wrench.



3. Disconnect the anti-roll bar strut from the stabilizer by loosening the nut and holding the hinge pin by the flat with a wrench.

4. Remove the stabilizer bar.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Use new self-locking nuts. Make sure that the brake hose does not get pinched between the stabilizer bar and the suspension strut.

Stabilizer

1. Remove the suspension beam (see section Front suspension).

2. Disconnect both stabilizer links from the stabilizer (see illustration).



3. Loosen the nuts on the left and right sides of the body and remove the anti-roll bar.



4. Installation is done in the reverse order. Wet the clamp with water. Use new self-locking nuts.
