Note. For installation, you will need new nuts for attaching the brackets and stabilizer links.
Withdrawal
1. Support the rear wheels. Apply the parking brake. Raise the front of the car and place it on stands (cm. "Lifting and placing the car on supports"). Remove both front wheels.
2. At both ends of the stabilizer, unscrew the nuts of the connecting hinges and release the ends of the stabilizer. Hold the hinge pins from turning with an open end wrench (pic. 7.2).
3. Mark the position of the bushings relative to the stabilizer, then unscrew the nuts of the brackets for fastening the stabilizer bushings (pic. 7.3).
4. Remove both brackets from the subframe, then remove the stabilizer from under the vehicle. Remove bushings from stabilizer.
5. Carefully inspect all parts for wear and damage, paying particular attention to the bushings. Replace defective components if necessary.
Installation
6. Put the bushings on the stabilizer, aligning the marks made before removal. Turn the bushings like this. so that their flat edges are facing up, and the slot is at the bottom.
7. Reinstall the stabilizer. Put on the brackets and screw on the new fastening nuts. Make sure that the bushings have not moved relative to the marks, then tighten the nuts to the required torque.
8. Align the connecting hinges with the stabilizer. Make sure the flats on the pivot pins are against the tabs on the stabilizer, then install the new nuts and tighten them to the correct torque.
9. Install the wheels, lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the wheel bolts to the required torque.
