Front suspension — removal and installation (BMW 7 Series E32)

Removal

Remove the front wheels.

Remove the left and right brake calipers and hang them from the body.

The brake lines remain connected.

Remove the ABS pulse sensor.

Suspend the engine with a fixture using a chain and earrings.

Loosen the ball joint nut on the steering knuckle and remove the ball joint using the tool.

Unscrew the steering gear housing mounting bolts and hang it on the body. The hydraulic lines remain connected.



Unscrew the bolts of the rear cross pipe on the left and right.



Unscrew the engine mounts from the beam on the left and right.



Remove the caps from the shock absorber cups.





Place a lift under the front axle and unscrew the bolts on the right and left.

Slowly lower the front axle.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
