Note. Do not remove the hub unless absolutely necessary, as this will require replacement of the bearing. The inner ring of the hub bearing has a tight fit, so when the hub is removed, the bearing usually fails. Purchase a new bearing before removing the hub.
Note. To install the hub you will need a long bolt and a set of washers.
Withdrawal
1. Remove the drive shaft (see chapter 8).
2. Remove the brake disc (see chapter 9).
3. Screw the impact puller to the hub and knock the hub off the bearing. If the bearing inner race remains in the hub, you will need a puller to remove it.
4. After removing the hub, carefully inspect the bearing for wear or damage. Make sure the bearing rotates smoothly and without binding. If the inner ring of the bearing remains in the hub, or you have doubts about the performance of the bearing, replace it (see paragraph 10).
Installation
5. Lubricate the surface of the hub and insert it into the bearing inner race.
6. Using a long bolt, press the hub into the bearing.
Note. Do not try to speed up the installation of the hub with a hammer, as this will almost certainly damage the bearing.
7. Turn out a bolt with washers and be convinced that the nave rotates smoothly and without jamming.
8. Install the brake disc (see chapter 9).
9. Install the drive shaft (see chapter 8).
