Clamp the brake system hose near the hydraulic fluid reservoir to shut off the supply of brake fluid to the wheel brakes.

Raise the car with a lift.
Remove the parking brake cables from the housings.
Remove the main and additional mufflers from the exhaust system.
Disconnect the propeller shaft from the main gear pinion flange.
Disconnect the brake hoses from the service brake system lines and remove the clamps holding them in place.
Lower the vehicle until the wheels touch the ground and place a mobile garage jack under the rear axle, placing a wooden block underneath.
Disconnect the rear axle from the center upper mount.
Disconnect the reaction rods and move them to the side.
Remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolts.
Raise the vehicle and remove the rear suspension crossmember assembly.
Lock the suspension arms and remove the cushion supports from the ends of the rear suspension crossmember.
Loosen the rear suspension cross member mounting bolts.
Loosen the suspension arm mounting bolts and remove the rear suspension crossmember.
Check the condition of the crossbar according to the dimensions shown in the figure.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- finally tighten the crossmember support mounting bolts and suspension arm mounting bolts only after the vehicle has been lowered and loaded, distributing the load as in subsection "Detailed technical specifications";
- remove air from the brake hydraulic system (see section "Brake system");
- check the geometric parameters of the rear axle.
