Remove the shock absorber and sealing gasket.
The shock absorber is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Warning: Shock absorbers are replaced in pairs.

Removal and installation the shock absorber (BMW 5 Series E12)
On the loaded suspension arm, unscrew the bolt securing the shock absorber to the arm. Unscrew the three nuts securing the upper support of the shock absorber.
Remove the shock absorber and sealing gasket.
The shock absorber is installed in the reverse order of removal.
