Withdrawal
Loosen wheel bolts.
Raise the car.
Remove wheel.
Remove the brake caliper and secure it to the body with wire, see section «Removal and installation of brake shoes of disk brakes of forward wheels»).
Caution: The brake hose remains connected, otherwise the brake system must be bled later.
Press pressure rod -2- off stabilizer bar -1-. The figure also shows: -3- transverse link, -4- suspension strut.
Loosen the steering knuckle nut. Press out the steering end with a suitable puller, (see section «Removal and installation of steering tips»).
Loosen the ball joint nut. Press out the ball joint with a suitable puller.
Press shock absorber strut out and out of ball joint stub.
Support the suspension strut from below with a jack so that the strut does not fall when the upper support is released.

Loosen the mounting nuts on the strut column and pull the suspension strut down.
Installation
Insert suspension strut from below and tighten with new self-locking nuts with a tightening torque of 22 Nm.
Attention: Before installation, clean the pivot pins of the steering end and the ball joint.
Install steering knuckle (see section «Removal and installation of steering tips»).
Insert ball joint (connection of the transverse arm and suspension strut) and secure with a new self-locking nut with a tightening torque of 65 Nm.
Screw the tension rod to the stabilizer with a tightening torque of 42 Nm.
Install brake caliper (see section «Removal and installation of brake shoes of disk brakes of forward wheels»).
Screw on the wheel.
Lower the car.
Tighten wheel bolts crosswise to 110 Nm.
