Withdrawal
Attention: The shock absorber must be replaced with a shock absorber with the same marking -K-.
Remove shock absorber (see section «Removal and installation of an amortization rack»).
To remove the shock absorber, it is necessary to compress the coil spring. Compress the spring with a special tool.
Attention: Unscrew the shock absorber nut only when the spring is compressed.
Clamp the suspension strut in a vise and compress the spring with a suitable tensioner.
Remove cap.
Loosen the nut with a bent ring wrench, while holding the piston rod from turning.
Remove puck.
Remove the upper spring cup with gasket, as well as the spring.
Caution: If the spring needs to be replaced, unload it slowly. If only replacement of the shock absorber is required, the spring remains compressed.
Remove protective tube and plastic spring or rubber bellows.
Unscrew the threaded ring and pull out the shock absorber.
Remove old oil from shock absorber cup.
Installation
Pour about 30 cm3 of SAE 30 engine oil into the shock absorber glass. The engine oil is used to remove heat from the shock absorber to the shock absorber.
Insert the new shock absorber into the suspension strut.
Screw in the threaded ring with a tightening torque of 130 Nm.
Assemble the suspension strut according to the drawing. Ensure that the helical spring is properly attached to the surfaces of the upper and lower spring cups.
The sealing washer is installed with the concave side towards the support bearing.
Tighten the new self-locking nut to 65 Nm. while holding the piston rod from turning.
Slowly release the spring.
Put the cap and install the suspension strut (see section «Removal and installation of an amortization rack»).
