Removal and installation, inspection of the rear shock absorber (BMW 5 Series E34)

Removal

Remove the rear bumper.



Unscrew the "arrow" bolts and remove the shock absorber.

Examination

Note: If the bumper is replaced after an accident, the control dimension "A" should not differ from 98 ±5 mm. Otherwise, replace the shock absorber. The dimension "B" of the shock absorber is 296 + 2 mm.

Installation

Fasten the impact box to the body with 4 bolts with a tightening torque of 10 Nm.

Install the bumper.
