Removal and installation, inspection of the shock box and shock absorber. (BMW 5 Series E34)

Removal

Remove the front bumper.



Loosen the bolts and remove the shock box with the shock absorber.

Examination

Attention; If the bumper is replaced after an accident, the control dimension "A" on the impact box should not differ from 166 + 2 mm. The dimension "B" of the impact shock absorber is 296 ±2 mm.

Installation

If necessary, replace the defective part.

Fasten the impact box to the body with 4 bolts with a tightening torque of 50 Nm.

Install the bumper.
