Rear axle gearbox removal and installation (BMW 7 Series E32)
Removal
Loosen the driveshaft.
Remove the drive shafts and tie them to the body.
Remove the bolts from the gearbox on top of the rear beam.
Support the gearbox with a lift.
Remove the front bolts on the left and right.
If necessary, disconnect the speedometer cable.
Remove the flexible coupling mounting bolts and release the rear axle.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
