Drain the oil, remove the cap.
Press out the drive shaft flange with a pry bar.
Mark both bearing caps with a center punch.
Remove bearing caps.
Caution: Do not confuse bearing caps with spacers. Wire the spacers to the covers.
With the help of compensation washers, the position of the differential box and the side clearance in the gearing are set. Replace ring if damaged.
Take out the differential box as a set.
Remove the drive gear drive shaft flange guard plate.
Measure the turning resistance force with a special tool.
Measured Force (20 Nm) must be reached at installation, but not exceeded.
While holding the driveshaft flange with a wrench, loosen the collar nut.
Remove the flange with a puller.
Take out the seal.
Cover the new seal with oil and press it in.
Press the new flange onto the drive shaft using the tool, but do not tighten.
Attention: When replacing the drive shaft flange, the spacer sleeve does not need to be changed.
Tighten the tapered bearing with the previously measured torque of +20 Nm.
If the torque resistance is exceeded, the spacer sleeve must be replaced.
