Rear Suspension Drive Shafts. General Description (BMW 7 Series E32)

            0

Drive shafts transmit force from the rear axle gearbox to the wheel.

The shafts are cushioned together with the wheels. To compensate for the uneven rotation that occurs in this case, the shafts are equipped with constant velocity joints (CV joints).

If the rubber seals are not tight, the shafts should be replaced, because otherwise water and dirt will penetrate into the joints. The joints are very sensitive to water and dirt.
