Attention: If during turns, especially tight turns, there is noise from the side of the wheel outer in relation to the turn, then this indicates a faulty wheel bearing.
Withdrawal
Raise the engine and remove the engine mounts.
Mark the positions of the front wheels on the hubs so that you can then set the balanced wheel to the same position. Loosen the wheel bolts with the car on the floor. Support the car in front and remove the front wheel
Unscrew the bolt / nut and remove the braces from the cross beam, having previously removed the cover.
Remove the suspension arm from the cross member.
Remove the heat shield and engine shield holder.
Support the shock absorber outside.
Measure thread length (A) both tie rods and mark it or count the number of revolutions when unscrewing it.
Loosen locknuts (arrow) and loosen the tie rods.
Remove the steering gear mounting nuts from the cross member.
Loosen the nuts and remove the stabilizer bar.
Support the beam from below with a floor jack.
Unscrew the three bolts securing the cross beam on the left and right and lower the beam down. To do this, partially remove the lining in the area of the rear bolts.
Attention: the bolts have different lengths, so you need to mark their positions.
Installation
Install the cross member and bolt to the engine mount, tightening to 75 Nm. Tighten the two shortest bolts at the back.
Install the stabilizer on the cross beam and tighten the nuts securing it to 20 Nm.
Install the steering gear and tighten the new self-locking nuts of its fastening to 40 Nm.
Screw the tie rods to the marked thread length (A). Tighten the lock nuts to 45 Nm.
Install the heat shield and engine shield holder.
Install the suspension arms and tie rods to the cross member and tighten the new self-locking nuts, but not all the way.
Install the engine mounts.
Remove the engine jack.
Install the front wheels. Do not grease wheel bolts. Install the wheels in accordance with the marks made earlier. Lower the car. Tighten the wheel bolts crosswise to 100 Nm.
Put the car in working position. To do this, the following conditions must be met:
- The car is on wheels.
- The front seats are in the middle position.
- Each front seat carries a load of 68 kg.
- There is a load of 68 kg in the middle of the rear seat.
- In the center of the trunk is a load weighing 21 kg.
- The fuel tank is full of fuel.
Tighten the self-locking bracing nuts on the cross member to 110 Nm. Install the cover.
Tighten the suspension arm nuts on the cross member to the following torques:
- 6-cylinder engines - 81 Nm,
- 8-cylinder engines - 77.5 Nm.
