Rear Axle. General Description (BMW 7 Series E32)

            0

The rear axle is designed to transmit torque to the drive shafts of the rear wheels.

To compensate for the difference in the number of wheel revolutions when turning, there is a differential in the rear axle gearbox. Depending on the model and year of manufacture, cars can be equipped with differentials of two different designs. A differential without limiting the difference in wheel revolutions and with a 25% limitation of the difference (limited slip differential) to improve the vehicle's cross-country ability when one of the wheels slips.
