Prepare the equipment "23.0.020", "31.5.130" and "33.1.150", remove the front propeller shaft and lock washer (5, see Fig. 13.3). Mark the position of the nut relative to the shaft (by punching). Unscrew the nut (17), counting the number of turns and holding the flange (18) of the drive gear from turning with the stopper "23.0.020" (fig. 13.47). Remove the flange from the output shaft using the "33.1.150" tool. Remove the oil seal from the gearbox housing by prying it off with a screwdriver.

Lubricate the working edges of the new seal with transmission oil and, using the mandrel "31.5.130" (fig. 13.48), press the new seal in until it stops.

Attention! Tighten the nut strictly until the rosaries coincide, but in no case further. Otherwise, the spacer sleeve will be damaged.
Clean and install the pinion flange. Tighten the nut (counting revolutions) until the marks made with a center punch on the nut and on the shaft coincide (fig. 13.49).

Install a new lock washer (1) on the front propeller shaft. After completing the work, check the oil level in the front axle gearbox.
