Caution! Do not remove the drive shaft from the flange.
The technology for removing the right and left drive shaft seals is identical. When removing and installing the seal, the drive shaft (1, Fig. 13.50) the wheels and the swivel support (2) form a single unit.

The replacement of the wheel drive shaft seal must be carried out in the following order. Prepare the device "31.5.130", remove the wheel drive shaft and extract the seal (1, Fig. 13.51) from the gearbox housing (3), prying it off with a screwdriver (2).

Attention! The new oil seal has a protective sleeve that protects the working edges of the oil seal when installing (inserting) the drive shaft into the front axle gearbox.
Remove the safety sleeve from the seal and, using the mandrel "31.5.130" (1, Fig. 13.52), press the new seal in until it stops.

Lubricate the working edges of the new seal with transmission oil, carefully insert the safety sleeve into the seal and install the drive shaft. Before inserting it all the way, it is necessary to remove the safety sleeve from the seal (1, Fig. 13.53), by cutting and removing it.

After completing the work, check the oil level in the front axle gearbox.
