Withdrawal
1. Remove the drive shaft and clean it.
2. Cut the clamp securing the inner hinge cover with side cutters.
3. Use a drift to remove the locking cap from the hinge ring.
4. Remove the cover from the hinge ring and slide it onto the drive shaft.
5. Use a rag to wipe the grease from the hinge.
6. Pry apart the retaining ring and remove it.
7. Press out a power shaft with the appropriate tool -1- from the internal hinge of equal angular speeds -2-. In doing so, the hinge cage must lie on the base plate -3-.
8. Check for damage and dirt in the hinge. Replace hinge if necessary. If possible, do not disassemble the hinge.
9. Clean the hinge, for which it must be disassembled. In this case, mark on the end the position of the hinge hub, separator and hinge relative to each other.
Take special care when assembling the hinge.
10. Remove the inner cover (checkpoint side) through the drive shaft.
11. If necessary, cut the collars of the boot on the outer hinge and remove the boot through the drive shaft. Make sure that dirt does not get into the hinge.
Installation
When replacing covers, use a repair kit. For vehicles with high mileage, it is also recommended to replace the second protective cover.
12. Thoroughly clean the assembled joint.
13. Put on new covers. At the same time, cover the sharp edges of the drive shaft with a suitable sleeve or seal with tape so as not to damage the covers when putting them on.
14. Fill the joint with new special grease.
Lubricant is in the repair kit "Protective case".
15. Place the inner joint on the drive shaft.
16. Install with clamping tool -1- in a vise.
17. Press the hinge up to the stop using the corresponding pipe -2-.
18. Remove the jig.
19. Install the new circlip with pliers, making sure it is in the correct position in the groove.
20. Fill the outer and inner hinges and protective covers with special grease with a volume of 80 g. Make sure that dirt does not get into the hinges.
21. Lubricate with a thin layer of sealant "Curil T" or "Stucarit Dicht-Gel 309/4" sealing surfaces of the locking cover. Install the cover.
22. Lubricate with a thin layer of sealant "Curil T" or "Stucarit Dicht-Gel 309/4" sealing surfaces of covers. Install the cover.
23. Fasten the cover to the lid using a clamp and pliers, eg HAZET 1847-1. Make sure that the lock of the large clamp lies between the two hinge holes.
24. Put on the cover of the outer hinge and fix it on the large diameter.
25. Pull the covers through the thickening on the drive shafts and secure with clamps.
26. Reinstall the drive shafts.
