Compartments for storing small items (BMW 5 Series E39)

The lid of the drawer at the front on the beveled side of the middle console is made to slide (see illustration). When the vehicle is equipped with a cassette holder, each cassette compartment opens at the touch of a small button.



The open compartment is located just below the steering column.

If the car is equipped with a compartment with a folding lid, then in order to open it, you should pull the handle down, and in order to close it, you should slam the lid with an upward movement. The compartment is on the middle console between the two front seats. To open the compartment, you should grab the recess at the front and pull the lid up. A phone is installed in this compartment, if you wish to equip your car with one.

You will also find pockets or niches for small items on any of the doors and on the back of the front seat backs.
