Removal and installation the wheel drive shaft flange (BMW 3 Series E21)
Removal
Remove the hub cap, remove the cotter pin and unscrew the hub castellated nut.
Remove the rear wheel.
Remove the brake drum (by unscrewing the hexagonal socket head bolt) or the brake caliper without disconnecting the brake hose from it, and hang the caliper on the body, then remove the brake disc.
Press off the drive shaft flange using a lever puller.

Installation
Check the condition of the mud deflector, paying particular attention to the condition of the surface sliding on the wheel drive shaft flange, and replace it if necessary.
The installation of the wheel drive shaft flange is performed in the reverse order of removal, observing the tightening torques of the threaded connections.
