Assembling the intermediate shaft (BMW 3 Series E21)

Heat the gears of III and IV gears to a temperature of 120-150°C.

When pressing the gears of the third and fourth gears onto the intermediate shaft, it is necessary to direct their flanges towards the gear of the second gear.

Using a press, press the third gear onto the shaft with a force of 7 tf and install the retaining ring.

Repeat the above operations for the 4th gear, then press the front bearing onto the intermediate shaft.
