Gear selector shaft sealing ring (GS 6 — 37 bz) (BMW X3 E83)

Replacing the gear selector shaft sealing ring (GS 6 - 37 BZ)



Caution: Check the oil level when finishing work.


Attention:
  • Use only certified brands of transmission oil.
  • Failure to comply with this rule will result in serious damage to the manual transmission.


1. Remove the transfer case.

2. Engage second gear.

3. Loosen the bolts and remove the rear cover (1) of the gearbox.

Tightening torque: 46 Nm.

4. Using a small screwdriver, lift the retaining ring (1) and remove it from the groove.

5. Move the ring (1) back.

6. Remove the cylindrical pin (2).

7. Screw in tool 230210 until it is firmly connected to the seal (1).

8. Press out the oil seal using tool 230210.

9. Lubricate the working edges of the oil seal and the gear selection rod with transmission oil.

10. Press in the oil seal using tool 230220.

11. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
