Manual transmission S5D 280Z
The replacement of the gear selection rod sealing ring of the S5D 280Z manual transmission must be carried out in the following order. Prepare the "23.0.210" and "23.0.220" devices and remove the gearbox.
Remove the locking bracket (11) from the collar (12) of the gear selector rod. Remove the gear shift drive rod (10) from the collar of the gear selector rod and remove the washers.
Hook the spring ring (1, Fig. 8.17), installed in the groove and move it to the side, freeing access to the pin (2). Press up (or down) the cylindrical pin (2) from the gear selection rod sleeve and remove the sleeve (3).
Engage second gear, screw in the "23.0.210" tool (Fig. 8.18) until it is firmly connected to the sealing ring (1). Using the "23.0.210" tool, press out the sealing ring.
Lubricate the working edges of the sealing ring and the gear selection rod with transmission oil and, using the "23.0.220" tool (Fig. 8.19), press in the sealing ring (arrow).
When assembling, lubricate the gearshift rod pin and the spherical part of the gear selector rod with Circolight type oil and replace the spring ring.
