Manual transmission S5D 280Z
Oil seal replacement (flange o-ring) secondary shaft manual transmission type S5D 280Z must be carried out in the following order. Prepare fixtures «00.2.030», «00.5.010», «23.0.130», «23.0.140», «23.0.190». «23.0.250» And «23.2.320», disconnect the cardan shaft from the manual transmission and hang it to the body on wire brackets. Support the manual transmission with the assembly of devices (see fig. 8.5) and remove the transfer case.
Attach fixture «23.0.250» on the output shaft flange and using the tool «23.2.320» (pic. 8.9), unscrew the collar nut.
Using a three-arm puller (pic. 8.10), remove the flange (1) from the secondary shaft of the manual transmission. Using fixture «00.5.010» (pic. 8.11), remove the sealing ring (1, oil seal) from the secondary shaft of the manual transmission.
Lubricate the sealing lips of the new O-ring (1, fig. 8.12) gear oil and using the tool «23.0.190», press in a new sealing ring until it stops. When pressing in, use a mallet or hammer with a plastic head.
Heat the output shaft flange to 80°C and slide it onto the output shaft. Coat the collar nut with Loctite 243 locking compound and tighten the collar nut of the output shaft flange in three steps:
- 1st step, tighten to 170 Nm (17.0 kgf·m);
- 2nd reception, release the nut;
- 3rd step, tighten to 130 Nm (13.0 kgf·m).
At the end of the work, change the oil in the gearbox.
Manual transmission S5D 39Z
Replacing the sealing ring of the output shaft flange of the manual transmission S5D 39Z should be carried out in the same manner, while tightening the collared nut of the output shaft flange in three stages:
- 1st step, tighten to 200 Nm (20.0 kgf·m);
- 2nd reception, release the nut;
- 3rd step, tighten to 145 Nm (14.5 kgf·m).
