
1. Raise the vehicle and support it on jack stands. Insert a large screwdriver or pry bar over the jack stand under the rear of the transmission case. Try to lift the transmission slightly.
2. The transmission should lift up very slightly. If it moves easily, the mount may be cracked or torn. Replace it.
3. To replace the mount, first support the weight of the transmission with a roller jack. Loosen the nuts and bolts that secure the mount to the crossmember and to the transmission, then lift the transmission slightly and remove the mount.
4. Installation is the reverse of removal.
