Removal and installation the handbrake cable. Rear disc brakes (BMW 3 Series E30)

Removal

Remove the handbrake lever.

Remove the handbrake shoe spacer lock.

Disconnect the handbrake cable from the rear axle swing arm and pull the cable out of the protective tube.



Unscrew the handbrake cable support and pull out the cable.

Installation

Route the cable to the handbrake lever and to the rear wheel brake.

Note: When installing in a protective tube, take into account that the support for the cable sheath is adjacent to the tube.

Connect the handbrake cable to the rear axle swing arm with a plastic clamp.



Insert the cable support and secure it with 2 bolts to the brake shield.

Assemble the drum brake.

Install the handbrake lever.

Adjust the handbrake.
