Withdrawal
Remove the rear brake disc.
Disconnect the lower return spring. Check return spring. Replace rusted and weakened springs.
Lightly press down on the pressure spring with a 5 mm allen key, turn 90° (¼ turn) and remove the spring from the brake shoe.
Also remove the pressure spring from the other brake pad.
Separate the brake pads from below and lift them up.
Remove the expansion lock and check for ease of movement. To do this, pull part -B- back, press out pin -A- and remove part -C- from cable.
Installation
Be sure to replace the brake pads on both sides with pads.
Apply a very thin coat of Molykote G to the work surfaces and the spreader pin.
Position locking pin with pin -A- from below on handbrake cable in correct position.
Insert the left and right brake pads. Press down on the retaining spring with a 5 mm spanner and turn it 90°at the same time.
Ensure the movement of the brake shoe installation mechanism. Lightly coat threads with Molykote paste. Unscrew the threaded element to the end.
Position the setting mechanism in the correct position between the brake pads.
From below, the brake pads must enter the slots) expansion lock.
Connect the top and bottom return springs.
Install brake disc.
Adjust handbrake.
If the hand brake pads have been replaced, they must be run in in 3 steps.
- Phase 1: 5 hard stops at 50 km/h on a road with little traffic.
- Phase 2: Let the brakes cool down.
- Phase 3: 5 more hard stops at 50 km/h.
