Removal and installation the handbrake lever (BMW 3 Series E30)

Removal

Lift the rubber boot of the handbrake lever and pull it back.



Remove the ashtray, you may need to remove the ashtray light bulb as well.

Loosen the rear bolt (arrow). Move the console back and pull it up.



Unscrew the 2 nuts (arrow) of the handbrake cables.



Unscrew 2 bolts "4" and bolt "5". Pull out the handbrake lever.

Installation

Insert the handbrake cables into the handbrake lever, Insert the handbrake lever and screw in bolts "4" and "5".

Tighten the handbrake cable nuts by hand.

Insert the console from the back and move it forward. Secure the console with a bolt.

Insert the ashtray, first inserting the ashtray light bulb.

Adjust the handbrake.

Place the rubber boot on the handbrake lever.
