Depending on the model, BNAV vehicles have a transistorized ignition system (TSZ) or a parametric ignition system integrated into the Motronic system.
The ignition system consists of:
- Ignition coils.
- spark plugs.
- Ignition distributor with inductive sensor and slider.
- Switching unit TSZ.
On vehicles equipped with Motronic, spark generation is determined by the following elements:
- Ignition distributor.
- position sensors.
- DME control unit (OME - digital engine management system Motronic).
The board of the switching unit of the transistor ignition system also serves as a heat sink. Before installing the switching unit of the transistor ignition system, thoroughly clean the switching unit board and the section of the wheel arch and cover with heat-conducting paste to ensure good heat dissipation.
Attention: The heat generated during the operation of the unit is removed to the body, so it is forbidden to turn on the engine when the switching unit is not fixed. This also applies to the DME control unit.
