Lifting and placing the vehicle on stands is dangerous! Therefore, please read Section Jacking and towing
1. Raise and place the vehicle horizontally on stands. Remove the lower engine compartment cover, refer to Section Removal and installation the lower engine compartment cover.
2. Set the selector to position "P".
3. Loosen nut "2" on gearbox lever "3", while holding clamping sleeve "1" with a wrench to prevent it from turning.
4. Press the gear lever "3" forward to the parking position. At the same time, pull the cable "4" in the opposite direction and release it again.
5. Tighten nut "2" to a torque of 10 Nm, while holding clamping sleeve "1" by the hexagon.
6. Check the operation of the selector. To do this, turn on the ignition. When the car is stationary, the selector can move from the "P" or "N" position if the brake pedal is pressed at the same time.
7. The engine can only be started in the selector position "P" and "N".
8. The ignition key can only be removed when the selector is in position "P".
9. Otherwise, you must contact a service station.
