Removal and installation the lower engine compartment cover (BMW 3 Series E46)
Removal
Lifting and placing the vehicle on stands is dangerous! Therefore, please read Section Jacking and towing.
1. Raise and support the vehicle on stands.

2. Models 320d: Remove the rear lower shield under the gearbox. To do this, turn the screwdriver 1/4 turn (arrows in the illustration) clamps and remove the bottom shield.

3. Unscrew the front cover mounting bolts (arrows in the illustration), lower it and remove the front edge from the bumper.
Installation
1. First insert the front cover and secure it with bolts.
2. Models 320d: Secure the back cover with bolts.
3. Lower the car onto its wheels.
