Removal and installation the cylinder head cover (BMW 7 Series E38)

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Remove the upper engine cover.

5. Unscrew the mounting bolts and move the left and right cable boxes to the center.

7. Loosen the fasteners and remove the cylinder head cover.



8. Check the condition of the cylinder head cover gasket and replace the gasket if necessary.

9. Clean the sealing surfaces from gasket residues and lubricate the mating surfaces with Drei Bond 1209 sealant.

10. Install the cylinder head cover, center it on several bolts, then tighten the cover mounting bolts to the required torque in sequence from the middle to the edges.
