The description below also applies to M62 engines.
1. Remove the engine crankcase guard.
2. Unscrew the oil filter cover and the drain plug in the oil pan. Drain the engine oil.
3. Disconnect the wiring connector of the K/L oil level switch.
4. Unscrew the oil pan mounting bolts and remove it.
5. Clean the mating surfaces from any remaining sealing materials.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Use new gasket and new bolts. For ease of installation, use pins.
