Carpet and Upholstery Care (BMW 3 Series E46)
The upholstery and carpets should be vacuumed regularly. If they are heavily soiled, they should be removed from the vehicle for cleaning or washing, and dried thoroughly before reinstallation. The seats and interior trim panels of the vehicle should be wiped with a damp cloth. If stains occur on the upholstery, they can be removed using liquid detergent and a soft brush. Remember to regularly clean the headrests in the same way as the upholstery. When using liquid detergents inside the vehicle, do not over-wet the surfaces being cleaned. Excess moisture may remain in the seams and cause unpleasant odors in the interior. If water accidentally gets inside the vehicle, especially on the carpets, it is necessary to thoroughly dry the interior, especially the carpets. Do not use oil or electric heaters inside the vehicle for this purpose.
