Checking the windshield and headlight washers (BMW 3 Series E46)

1. Check that the washer nozzles are not clogged. Make sure that the nozzles produce a powerful stream of liquid. The nozzles should be adjusted so that the stream hits just above the center of the windshield or headlight. In windshield nozzles with two holes, one hole should produce a stream just above the center, and the second - just below. If necessary, adjust the nozzles with a thin rod or a piece of stiff wire (Fig. 16.1). Be careful not to damage the nozzle channel.



2. To adjust the headlight washers, a special BMW tool 00 9 100 is required.
