Removal and installation the heater control panel (BMW 5 Series E34)
Removal
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Remove the radio.

Disconnect the rear window heater connector from the rear through the cutout for the radio. Then squeeze the left clip and pull out the left element of the remote control.

Disconnect the connectors from the back. To do this, move the lever up on the right connector, and use a screwdriver to press the bracket to the left on the left connector, see the figure.

Compress the fastening clamps 1 and disconnect the cable from the lever 2. Do the same with the other cables.
If necessary, unscrew and replace the fan switch or controller on the remote control.
Installation
Connect the cables and snap them into the supports. Pay attention to the color markings so as not to mix up the cables.
Put on and secure the connectors.
Insert the remote control.
Connect the ground wire to the battery and check the operation of the heater control panel.
Insert the rear window heating switch, install the radio.
