The windshield wiper drive is located in the water drainage casing under the windshield. The windshield wiper system, like the windshield washer system, is controlled by an electronic module depending on the vehicle speed.
When the vehicle is stationary, the windshield wiper switches off.
As the vehicle speed increases, the intervals of intermittent operation are reduced.
If desired, you can switch to fully automatic control of the intermittent operation intervals using the AIC system. This system is equipped with a rain sensor and, depending on the wetness of the windscreen, continuously controls the duration of the cleaning intervals in the range from long operation to a complete stop. Based on the intensity of the infrared radiation of the LED reflected from the windscreen, the sensor measures the light transmittance of the glass: dry glass reflects infrared radiation completely, while wet glass only partially.
