The readings shown in the illustration appear for a few seconds after turning the ignition key to position 1 or after starting the engine.

Along with the inscription "OILSERVICE" or "INSPECTION" the display shows the name of the next scheduled maintenance and the remaining mileage, or kilometers remaining until the scheduled maintenance is due. The remaining mileage is calculated based on your driving style. The flashing display and the sign in front of the number mean that you have already missed maintenance for the corresponding number of kilometers. Book a service appointment at a BMW service center.

You can view the month and year of the next brake fluid change by pressing the right button on the instrument cluster while the next maintenance is displayed. With each press of the button, the indication of the next maintenance is replaced by the date of the next brake fluid change and vice versa. If the brake fluid change time has already passed, the clock symbol will also light up on the display. Schedule a service appointment at a BMW service center. The indicator doesn't take into account the time the battery is disconnected. Therefore, do not forget to change the brake fluid, regardless of the indicator readings, at least once every two years.
